Mercedes E350 Dead Command Unit

This weeks interesting job was on a clients Mercedes E350. Customer stated the radio, navigation, screen was complete black (in-op). Checked the basics and everything looked normal, but after connecting our Star diagnostics, it showed no communication with the command unit.

Once we replaced the command unit supplied from Mercedes-Benz direct (factory part), we loaded the telematic DVD that is only supplied from Mercedes headquarters to authorized independent shops. We then mated the unit to the vehicle permanently thru SCN coding.

Proof you need to take your vehicle to the proper repair facility to get the job done right. Our client now has his E350 wagon back on the road working correctly, good thing because he drove 2 hours to have this work done here.

Porsche Boxster S - No Nav issue resolved

Preowned Porsche Boxter S was purchased by a new client and the navigation system was in-op. We diagnosed with a PIWIS tester (factory) to see if the proper coding was in-place, which was showing to be fine. On top we saw that there was no fiber optic signal coming from main head unit to the nav control box. All other radio function worked correctly.

Upon further investigation someone was in here before hand and installed an after-market system and popped in place this unit for sale. Disassembled the unit, repaired the communication lines and the fiber-optic cabling. It instantly worked! For any pre-owned vehicle we recommend that you have everything inspected before you make a purchase.
